The Coleman Center for the Arts Summer Camp 2016: Camp COLOR
Calling all Sumter County youth ages 8-18: you are invited to “Camp Color!” Experiment in visual and performing arts and more at the Coleman Center for the Arts’ one-week summer camp! Camp will run May 31st – June 4th, Tuesday through Saturday from 9:45 am to 4 pm, with a closing celebration on June 4 from 6-8 pm.
This year’s summer camp theme will be COLOR! Boldness, expression, creativity, collaboration and fun are our inspirations. Participants will gain experience in visual art, music, performance, creative writing and critical thinking. Camp offers one track for campers age 8-12 and one for campers 13-18, each tailored to the needs and interests of participants. Varied, tasty and balanced lunches will be provided every day.
An all-star group of artists and educators will lead sessions at the Coleman Center for the Arts’ Summer Camp including Terry Hayes, Darius Hill, Catherine Shelton, Kanita Sturdivant, John Paul Taylor, and Boo Gilder!
Space is limited to 24 campers, so don’t wait too long to sign up. Reserve your space in camp by filling out a registration form and turning it into the Coleman Center by May 27th. CCA’s summer camp is free of charge. Students must be able to attend all 5 days of camp. Slots will be filled on a first come, first serve bases. Registration forms are available at the Coleman Center office (on Avenue A in York), the Hightower Library, Sumter Central High School, Sumter Academy, York West End Jr. High, Livingston Jr. High, Kinterbish Jr. High and North Sumter Jr. High.
